Community Health Fair Brings Care, Hope, and Resources to Phoenix

Thanksgiving outreach Day was blessed by community, generosity, and faith. In collaboration with Bethel Church, the Dr. Alex Kim Foundation, and Madrid Beauty Academy, we distributed turkeys for 100 families, along with free food, clothing, and valuable community resources. Many received prayer and a hopeful word to carry into the season. Grateful for everyone who joined us and for the sponsors and volunteers who made it possible. All glory to God.

The day’s primary goal was clear: to address the health needs of the community in a comprehensive, accessible manner. A total of 122 patients received complete medical evaluations, reflecting the event’s dedication to providing high-quality care. Among these, 58 individuals underwent vision screenings, leading to referrals for optometrist follow-ups. Dental health services were equally robust, with 85 patients receiving exams and scheduling follow-up care, including treatment for four identified cases of urgent infections. These services underscored the importance of early detection and intervention in maintaining overall health.

The health fair’s reach extended beyond medical care, with pantry items distributed to dozens of families. This provision ensured that basic nutritional needs were met, demonstrating the organizers’ commitment to holistic well-being.

What set this event apart was the diverse network of organizations and businesses that collaborated to make it a success. Each partner brought unique services and contributions, enriching the experience for attendees:
PATCH offered vital health checks, including glucose monitoring, ensuring attendees had access to crucial preventive screenings.
First Care Medical provided a full physical exam required for the immigration process, making an essential service easily accessible to those navigating this complex requirement.
Bellagio Foot & Ankle prioritized podiatric health by offering free foot health exams, addressing a vital yet often overlooked aspect of overall wellness.
Panadería Los Jarochos added a festive touch to the event with a lively raffle, awarding three attendees with coffee makers, blending fun and community spirit seamlessly.

Music Academy delighted families with candy bags and information about instrument classes, highlighting the role of creativity and arts in fostering mental health and well-being.
Marybelle Community Clinic, United Health Care, and Salud En Balance were instrumental in addressing nutritional and medical needs. Led by Teresa Sosa, this team conducted glucose checks and distributed an impressive 100 turkeys to families, adding a warm, festive element to the holiday season.
Nuñez Law Firm brought professionalism and generosity, providing numerous giveaways, including an oven and an air fryer. Their contributions highlighted the interconnectedness of health, stability, and community support.
Helping Families in Need went above and beyond by assisting five individuals in securing health insurance and donating a $25 Starbucks gift card to brighten someone’s day.
Eye On Health prioritized vision care, screening 80 patients and ensuring that vision health remained a key focus of the event.
RICE provided care to 85 patients, referring 10 for further exams, emphasizing their dedication to thorough and specialized attention.
GB Family Care offered primary care consultations, embodying a comprehensive approach to community health.

The health fair wasn’t just about medical services; it was a celebration of community, collaboration, and compassion. The vibrant atmosphere was energized by the dedication of volunteers and the warm interactions between attendees and service providers.
