Children and teens today face a fast-paced, demanding world. Between school, social pressures, and the complexities of growing up, it’s more important than ever to give young people healthy ways to cope, communicate, and shine. At the Alex Kim Foundation, we believe music and movement are powerful tools for healing, growth, and self-expression.

That’s why we created Symphony of Dreams — a vibrant music and dance academy that empowers children and teens ages 6 to 18 through the arts. Whether it’s strumming a guitar, finding rhythm on the drums, singing from the heart, or mastering a piano piece, our students are discovering who they are and who they can become.

Why Music Matters

Music speaks when words fall short. It can lift a mood, calm anxiety, boost focus, and help young minds process emotions in ways that feel natural and safe. Numerous studies show that musical education supports cognitive development, emotional regulation, and social skills — all while giving students a creative outlet to express themselves.

For children and teens navigating challenges at home, school, or within themselves, music becomes more than a hobby. It becomes a form of healing.

At Symphony of Dreams, we’ve designed our academy to be a space of encouragement, discovery, and joy. Our goal is not to create perfect performers, but confident, resilient young people who know how to use the arts to tell their stories.

What We Offer

Our curriculum is open to all skill levels — from absolute beginners to more advanced young musicians. Our talented instructors provide high-quality instruction in:

  • String instruments (including violin and cello)

  • Piano

  • Guitar

  • Drums and percussion

  • Voice and vocal training

Students also have the opportunity to explore musical theory, rhythm and harmony, stage performance, and collaborative group work. Whether your child dreams of performing on stage or simply wants to learn something new, our academy provides a nurturing environment where they can thrive.

Beyond Technique: Music as Self-Expression

One of the most beautiful things about music is that every student brings something different to it. Some may use it as a way to focus their energy, others as a form of emotional release. Some find confidence in their ability to master a difficult piece; others learn the joy of teamwork while playing in a group.

Instructors at Symphony of Dreams understand the importance of individual growth. We encourage students to explore their creative identity and use music to express what they may not be able to say out loud. In this way, music becomes a personal and powerful form of communication.

By giving young people permission to express themselves authentically, we’re helping them develop healthy emotional habits that will serve them for life.

A Safe, Supportive, and Inspiring Space

At the core of Symphony of Dreams is our commitment to creating a safe and inspiring space for all children. Students are welcomed as they are and encouraged to grow at their own pace. There are no auditions required — only enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

We offer:

  • Group instruction

  • Performance opportunities throughout the year

  • Positive role models who believe in every student’s potential

Music isn’t just what we teach — it’s how we connect.

Join the Symphony

Whether your child is interested in picking up their first instrument or continuing their musical journey, we invite you to become part of our Symphony of Dreams family.

Music gives children a voice. It teaches them discipline, patience, creativity, and joy. And most importantly, it helps them express the emotions they may not yet have the words for. In a world full of noise, we give them a stage to share their song.
